No. 32.     Kębłów

This happened in the town of Piaski wielkie on the first (fourteenth) of July in the year one-thousand nine-hundred one at the hour of one in the afternoon. We declare that in the presence of witnesses Józef Swita, fifty-five years of age, and Wincenty Baniach, fifty years of age, townsmen from Piaski and day laborers, on this day a religious marital union was contracted between Jan Kozioł, twenty years of age, an unmarried man born in the village of Sitaniec and residing with his parents in Kębłów, a day laborer, son of Andrzej Kozioł and his wife Anna née Korgol, day laborers, and Katarzyna Dańko, nineteen years of age, an unmarried woman, born in the town of Tarnogóra, residing with her mother in Kębłów, daughter of the deceased Wincenty Dańko and his living wife Marianna née Basiak, day laborers. This marriage was preceded by three readings of the banns in the local parish church on the seventeenth (thirtieth) of June, the twenty-fourth of June (seventh of July), and the first (fourteenth) of July of the current year. The newlyweds stated that they had not made a premarital agreement. The permission of the father of the groom and the mother of the maiden who were present at this marriage having occurred orally, the religious ceremony of marriage was performed by the Reverend Stanisław [Czewnalski?] vicar of the local parish. This document was read aloud to those present who are illiterate, and was signed only by Us.
[signed] The Reverend [Biaarigui?] – Civil Registrar

This record shows that Katarzyna Danko was the daughter of Wincenty Dańko who died earlier in 1901. With this record, it appears that all the Dańkos whose life events were recorded in the Piaski record books are probably related to each other. The only fact from the records that contradicts this conclusion is the difference in the maiden names of Jan Dańko and Wincenty Dańko.

According to the records, Jan Danko’s parents were Wojciech Dańko and Agnieszka Smika. Wincenty Dańko’s parents were Wojciech Dańko and Agnieszka Guz.

No 39.Kębłów

This happened in the town of Piaski wielkie on the twelfth (twenty-fifth) of March in the year one-thousand nine-hundred one at the hour of four in the afternoon. There appeared Paweł [Kulik?], twenty-eight years of age, and Konstanty [Bolusz?], twenty-seven years of age, [three words?] in Kębłów, and he stated that on this day at the hour of four after midnight [four words?], Wincenty Dańko died, fifty-eight years of age, a laborer, having been born in [Potbia?]and residing in Kębłów, son of the married couple Wojciech Dańko and Agnieszka née Guz, leaving behind his widowed wife Marianna née Basian. After eyewitness testimony on the death of Wincenty Dańko, this document was read aloud to the declarants who were illiterate, and was signed only by Us.
[signed] The Reverend [B Zarnac?] Civil Registrar

I believe that Wincenty is the brother of Jan Dańko (whose family records I have previously posted) because a man named Wincenty Dańko was present at the baptism of Jan Dańko’s son Szymon Tadeusz, and the parents of both Wincenty and Jan are named Wojciech and Agnieszka. The maiden names of their mothers, however, appear to be different, but the confusion may be due to difficulties in reading the handwriting and tranliterating the Russian.

I had difficulty with this record and was unable to translate two sections that appear to relate to the occupations of the declarants and the deceased .  I also had difficulty transliterating the surnames and place names.

There appeared Wojciech [Kacpersia?], thirty years of age, and Franciszek [Gaika?], forty years of age, laborers from the village of Kębłów, and he stated that on the fourth (sixteenth) day of August in the same year, at the hour of eight in the afternoon, Tekla Dańko, the one-year-old daughter of Jan Dańko, laborer in Kębłów and his wife Salomea née Ciesielka, died in the village of Kębłów, having been born in the village of Łańcuchów, residing in the village of Kębłów after birth. After eyewitness testimony on the death of Tekla Dańko, this document was read aloud to those present who were illiterate, and was signed only by Us.
[signed] The Reverend Andrzej Burdzicki, Parish Administrator [one word?]

I had not previously found a birth and baptismal record for Tekla Dańko in the Piaski records. The reason I didn’t find a birth and baptismal record in the parish of Piaski was because Tekla was born in Łańcuchnów, a village in the parish of Łańcuchnów. This provides a clue for further research in the parish of Łańcuchnów. The Family History Library has microfilmed records for Łańcuchnów for the years 1733-1890.

LUBLIN DEACONATE

This happened in the town of Piaski wielkie on the nineteenth day of May in the year one-thousand eight-hundred sixty-seven at the hour of twelve noon. We make it known that in the presence of witnesses: Stanisław [Tlenis?], thirty years of age, and Wawrzeniec [Bis?], thirty years of age, farmers in Gardzienice, on this day a religious marriage was contracted between: Jan Dańko, a farm hand, widower after Małgorzata née Korbus who died on the sixth of February in this same year, son of Wojciech Dańko and his wife Agnieszka née Smyka, a sheep farmer in Oleśniki, born in Stryjów, for three years in the service of this one, thirty years of age, and the maiden Salomea Ciesielka, daughter of Adam Ciesielka and his wife Elżbieta née Nieszporek, farmers in Gardzienice, born in Gardzienice and residing there with her parents, twenty years of age. This wedding was preceded by three readings of the banns, on the fifth, twelfth, and nineteenth of this same month and year. The newlyweds stated that they had made no prenuptial agreement between them. Oral consent for this marriage contract was given by the parents of the newlyweds who were present for the recording of the marriage. This document was read aloud to the declarants and witnesses who do not know how to write, and was signed by Us.
[signed] The Reverend Andrzej Burdzicki, Administrator of the Parish of Piaski

Earlier in the year 1867, Jan Danko’s wife Małgorzata and son Franciszek died. With this marriage, Jan wasted no time finding a new wife to take care of his house and family. This document provides two clues to the origin of this family: Jan was born in Stryjów (Tarnogóra Parish) and his parents resided in Oleśniki (Fajsławice Parish). Both of these places are just to the south of Piaski. The Tarnogóra metrical records from 1810-1910 and the Fajsławice metrical records from  1825-1910 have been microfilmed by the Family History Library.
