This happened in Pałuki on the eighth / twentieth day of April in the year one-thousand eight-hundred thirty-five at the hour of three in the afternoon .  There appeared the well-born Mikołaj Chodkowski, owner of a part [of the village] in Klonowo, thirty-six years of age, in the presence of Jan Cichowski, twenty-one years of age, and Ignacy Bartołd, thirty-eight years of age, owners of parts [of the village] and residing in Klonowo, and he showed Us a child of the female sex born in Klonowo on day before yesterday at the hour of five in the evening of his wife Antonina née Pajewska, forty years of age. To this child at Holy Baptism performed today was given the name Teofila, and her Godparents were the afore-mentioned Jan Cichowski and Franciszka his wife. This document was read aloud to the declarant and witnesses; the declarant and witnesses do not know how to write.

This happened in Pałuki on the fifteenth day of July in the year one-thousand eight-hundred thirty-two at the hour of two in the afternoon .  There appeared the well-born Mikołaj Chodkowski, thirty years of age, owner of a part [of the village] and residing in Klonowo, in the presence of Ignacy Bartołd, thirty years of age, and Tomasz Kalinowski, forty-three years of age, residing in Klonowo, and he showed Us a child of the female sex born in Klonowo on the thirteenth day of this same month and year at the hour of four in the morning of his wife Antonina née Pajewska, thirty-eight years of age. To this child at Holy Baptism performed on this day was given the name Marianna, and her Godparents were the well-born Józef Kierzkowski and Zofia Cichowcka. This document was read aloud to the declarant and witnesses and was signed. The declarant does not know how to write.

Marianna Chodkowska was my 2nd cousin 4X removed.

The original record seems to spell the surname Chodkowski as Rudkowski. However, the index correctly spells it as Chodkowski. Other details, such as the name of the village and the name of the mother confirm that the father is Mikołaj Chodkowski, not Mikołaj Rudkowski.

This happened in Pałuki on the thirteenth day of April in the year one-thousand eight-hundred thirty at the hour of four in the afternoon .  There appeared the well-born Mikołaj Chodkowski, owner of a part [of the village] and residing in Klonowo, fifty-two years of age, in the presence of Wincenty Bartołd, owner of a part [of the village] and residing in Klonowo, thirty years of age, and Michał Milewski, owner of a part [of the village] and residing in Klonowo, forty years of age, and he showed Us a child of the male sex born here in Klonowo on the twelfth of this same month and year at the hour of ten in the evening of his wife Antonina née Pajewska, thirty-five years of age. To this child at Holy Baptism performed on this day was given the name Leon and his Godparents were the previously listed Wincenty Bartołd and Teofila Milewska. This document was read aloud to the declarant and witnesses and was signed by Us. The people listed in the document do not know how to write.

The ages reported in this record seems to be somewhat incorrect . The age of Mikołaj Chodkowski, in particular is incorrect . The record states that he is fifty-two years old, but he was only thirty-two at the time of this event.

To this child at Holy Baptism performed on this day was given the name Franciszek, and his Godparents were the afore-mentioned Franciszek Morawski and Konstancja Milewska. This document was read aloud to the declarant and the witnessed and was signed. The declarant does not know how to write.

After making the above statement and showing Us the child, in the presence of Wincenty Bartołd, twenty-three years of age, and Ignacy Bartołd, thirty years of age, residing in Klonowo. This birth record, having been read aloud to the declarant, was signed by Us. The declarant does not know how to write.

This record (No 22) begins with the words “Under the same record”, meaning that this baptism occurred on the same day as the baptism recorded directly above .  For that reason, I have included the first two lines of the previous record to provide the information that is the same for both baptisms.

After making the above statement and showing Us the child, in the presence of Wawrzeniec Milewski, fifty years of age, together with Andrzej Niedziałkowski, sixty years of age, owners of part [of the village] and residing in Klonowo.
