No 28     Obidzino and Mosaki Godacze

In the year one-thousand eight-hundred eleven, on the twentieth day of the month of February, before Us, the pastor of Pałuki, Registrar of the Civil State, Pałuki Gmina, Przasnysz Powiat, in the Płock Department, there appeared the well-born Jan Chodkowski, a bachelor who, according to a previously submitted certificate from the books of the Krasne church, is thirty-two years old, son of the deceased Paweł Chodkowski and Elżbieta, residing in Mosaki Godacze, together with the maiden Marianna Obidzińska who, according to proof in a document previously submitted by Us from the books of the Pałuki church, is seventeen years old, residing with her family, in the accompaniment of her father Wawrzeniec Obidziński, settled on the inherited parts [of the village], and her mother Teresa, residing in Obidzino. The parties who appeared demand that we proceed with the celebration of the marriage arranged between them, the announcement of which was made before the doors of our District House, that is: first on the tenth day of the month of February and second on the seventeenth day of the month of February in the same year at the hour of twelve noon. When no impediment to the said marriage was revealed, and the families hereby consent, acquiescing therefore to the request of the parties, after reading all the aforementioned papers and section six in the title of the Napoleonic Code regarding marriage, we asked the future husband and future wife whether they wished to join with each other in a marital union. When each of them responded separately that such is their wish, we proclaim in the name of the law that the well-born Jan Chodkowski and the maiden Marianna Obidzińska are joined in a marital union. We drew up a record of this in the presence of the well-born Kazimierz Mieszkowski, forty-four years of age, Paweł Długołęcki, thirty-eight years of age, Józef Łyszkowski, twenty-four years of age, and Adam Chrzanowski, twenty-six years of age, residing in Mosaki [Godacze] which was read aloud to the declarants and was signed by us because those people mentioned in the document do not know how to write.
