Milewo Malonki    21.
This happened in the village of Karniewo on the twenty-second day of February / sixth day of March in the year one-thousand eight-hundred forty-nine at the hour of nine in the morning. There appeared Walenty Zembruzski, fifty years of age, and Tadeusz Szlubowski, thirty-four years of age, both owners of the noble parts and residing in the village of Milewo Malonki, and they stated that on the twentieth day of February / fourth day of March in the same year at the hour of six in the morning, Jakub Chodkowski died, owner of the noble part [of the village], bachelor, fifty-two years of age, son of parents whose names are unknown, [one word?] from the village of Ozkarzewo Pańki. After visual confirmation of the death of Jakub Chodkowski, this document was read aloud to the declarants who do not know how to write, and was signed by Us alone.
[signed] The Reverend Ignacy Bartkowski, Pastor of Karniewo
I had thought that this record might record the death of Jakub Chodkowski, son of Tomasz Chodkowski and Agnieszka Kuligowska, but there are some discrepencies. Jakub Chodkowski, son of Tomasz Chodkowski and Agnieszka Kuligowska, was married twice with several children. The Jakub Chodkowski in this record was a bachelor apparently fromt he village of Ozkarzewo Pańki. Therefore, I conclude that this is not the Jakub Chodkowski I thought it was.
