This happened in the village of Szwelice on the twenty-second day of May in the year one-thousand nine-hundred twenty-one at the hour of six in the afternoon. We make it known that in the presence of witnesses Stanisław Pomaski, brother of the young girl, thirty years old, and Wincenty Milewski, twenty-four years old, the first residing in Sikuty and the second in Zakrzewo, both farmers, on this day a religious marriage was contracted between: Edmund Kołakowski, an unmarried man, a farmer, thirty-nine years old, son of the married couple, the deceased Wincenty and the still-living Michalina née Chrzanowska Kołakowski, born in Sikuty and residing in Ciepielewo on an agricultural farm; – and Józefa Pomaska, an unmarried girl, twenty-seven years old, daughter of the married couple, the deceased Antoni Pomaski and the still-living Paulina née Nosarzewska, born in Sikuty and residing there with her mother on an agricultural farm. – This wedding was preceeded by three announcements of the banns for general consent in the Szwelice and Szelków parish churches on the days: the twenty-fourth of April, the first and eighth of May of the current year. – The newlyweds stated that they had made no prenuptial agreement between them. – This religious rite was performed by the Reverend Franciszek Flaczyński, local pastor. This document was read aloud to the newlyweds and witnesses, and it was signed by us, the groom, and the witnesses. The bride is illiterate. – The Pastor of the Szelków parish, maintaining the public register.

Edmund Kołakowski died on 06 June 1927 in the Hospital of the Infant Jesus in Warsaw, Warsaw Powiat, Warsaw Voivodeship, Second Polish Republic . This was Józefa’s first marriage. After the death of Edmund Kołakowski, she married my great uncle, Józef Niedziałkowski. Although this record refers to Sikuty, it is called Pomaski-Sikuty in the Słownick Geograficny Królestwa Polskiego.
