The Polish Genealogical Society of America (PGSA) hosts a project to index the Illustrated Geographic Atlas of the Kingdom of Poland. I was not initially scheduled to index Powiat Ciechanowski, one of the powiats in which my Niedziałkowski ancestors lived, but the PGSA is now requesting volunteers to index any unindexed powiat, and so I indexed Powiat Ciechanowski. My father served in the U.S. Naval Armed Guard in World War II. The Armed Guard was considered to be the second most hazardous assignment in World War II, the Marines having the most hazardous.
