48Â Bedy 11.
This happened in Pałuki on the twenty-fifth day of January / sixth day of February in the year one-thousand eight-hundred fifty-two at the hour of twelve noon . There appeared Ludwik Suwiński of Bedy, twenty-two years of age, and Ludwik Brzozowski, father of the deceased from Długołęcka, forty-one years of age, both owners of parts [of the village], and they stated that yesterday at the hour of eight at night, Karolina Suwińska died in Bedy, twenty years of age, born in Sosnowo, daughter of the married couple Ludwik and Rozalia Brzozowska, leaving behind her widowed husband, the afore-mentioned Ludwik Suwiński . After visual confirmation of the death of Karolina Suwińska, this document was read aloud to the declarants and because they do not know how to write, was signed by Us alone.
[signed] The Reverend Ksawery Nałecz, Pastor of Pałuki
Karolina née Brzozowska Suwińska was the wife of the brother-in-law of my 2nd cousin 4X removed, Marianna Chodkowska. She had given birth to a son, Ignacy, four days before she died, suggesting that her death might have been due to complications after childbirth.
