I received the “Proximidade Award” from my friends, classmates, and fellow bloggers Msteri of Heritage Happens and Dru Pear of Find Your Folks . I’m so lucky to have friends like the two of you, and you know I really, really mean that!
The details of the award are as follows:
“These blogs invest and believe in PROXIMITY – nearness in space, time and relationships! These blogs are exceedingly charming. These kind bloggers aim to find and be friends. They are not interested in prizes or self-aggrandizement. Our hope is that when the ribbons of these prizes are cut, even more friendships are propagated. Please give more attention to these writers! Deliver this award to eight bloggers, who must choose eight more and include this cleverly-written text into the body of their award.”
I have placed links to the persons who gave me this award in this posting. Additionally, as a recipient of this award, I am supposed to nominate eight other blogs. Below, is a list of my nominations for the “Proximidade Award.”
2. Paula’s Genealogical Eclectica
3. Jake Fletcher’s Genealogy Project
4. How to Survive Suburban Life
6. Eboracensus
7. Rootsmithing

Steve, I enjoy these kinds of award “memes” because it gives us a chance to find other interesting genea-blogs. Thanks for some new blogs to read!
hey, thanks for the nomination!
-Jake
You deserve the award, Steve. And thank you for the favour! I wish I could be as prolific and regular as you.
Steve, I feel we are very fortunate to have the “group” we have and the friendships we have made. You are a top notch person, have done a fantastic job with your blog, share and help others willingly, and work very hard at whatever it is you are doing. I feel very honored to be classified as your friend, and I thank you for being the person you are! I am looking forward to what is next in your life! Hopefully we will see each other soon!
Steve, you deserve it. I’m glad Msteri and Dru chose you, and they have known you and your blog the longest of anybody (well, me too, except I don’t have a blog). You continue to amaze me with your work. We could all learn from you, and we do! Your third anniversary is coming up, and you are still going strong!
hi steve – thanks for mentioning my blog! I’m embarrased to say that my writing activities were awfully slow in 2008 – moving to a new country and starting a new job took priority last year. I’m hoping to do much more this year. I’m an avid subscriber to your blog, which is fantastic! all the best, james.
