In the year one-thousand six-hundred ninety-five on the eighth day of the month of April by me, the undersigned priest providing the functions of the pastor of this parish was baptized Elizabeth, born the fifth of this month, daughter of Charles Fortin and Sainte Cloutier his wife. The Godfather was Pierre Fortin and the Godmother was Elizabeth Bernier wife of Joseph Caron who have declared that they do not know how to write or sign as required by law . I was able to find some interesting links in this branch of the family. Élisabeth Fortin and her husband François Guimond, are supposedly ancestors of the singer Celine Dion through their son Claude. While Élisabeth’s brother Louis born in 1690 and his wife Anne Bosse are supposedly ancestors of Madonna Ciccone through their son Claude.
Although the more recent documents are harder to find, there are a few sites (like this one http://www.ancestry.com.au/drouin) that have helped me link the families together.
I thought it was interesting. Kind of proving if you go back far enough we all are related someway or another!
