Rose Season at Filoli

On Thursday, I stopped by the Filoli Estate in Woodside, California to take some pictures of the roses in bloom.

  1. Great photos – I always enjoy your visits to Filoli – through your pics!
Question: did you see any of the smoke from the Santa Cruz fire? Has it made its way up the Bay Area yet?

  2. Jasia says:

Lovely photos Steve. Roses are my favorite summer flower. Ours aren’t blooming yet. Next month 🙂

  3. Thomas, I enjoy my monthly visits to Filoli. I’ve never been there later than April before, so I’m looking forward to seeing the gardens change during the Summer and Fall. I didn’t notice any smoke from the Santa Cruz fire in San Francisco, but I could smell smoke at the Oakland Airport on Friday morning. Don’t know if the smoke was from Santa Cruz or someplace closer, though.

Jasia, I remember June being the best month for roses when I lived in New York. Having grown up with roses in our yard, roses are among my favorite summer flowers, too!

  4. I also love the photos, Steve. Seeing your photos made me think about the beaufiful roses I have growing in my yard. Think I’ll get out the camera and take some photos.
