Translated from the German, the record reads:
Births and Baptisms 1804
Between 6 and 7 o’clock in the morning of September 16, a son was born to the local citizen and baker, Elias Lather and his wife Anna Elisabetha Schmidt, who, on the 18th of the same month, was brought by his grandfather, Henrich Andreas Schmidt, citizen and [grocer?] [several words?] for baptism and was given the name Henrich Andreas.
Died on 08 March 1856
The marginal notation next to this record states the date of death of Henrich Andreas Lather. Henrich’s date of death was already known from his Death and Burial Record, and thus provides an added measure of proof that this is the correct Birth and Baptismal Record.
