While living in the Lithuanian village of LikiÅ¡kÄ—s, my grandmother’s family attended church in Butrimonys, although some records show that, at times, they attended church in StakliÅ¡kÄ—s.

Thank you Steve for your site and making your information available to the world. I have just recently started into a geneaology study of my family and am trying to trace the places in Lithuania that my grandparents immigrated from. Information on my end has been difficult to uncover. I finally got a copy of some family papers which indicate that my grandfather came from Butrimann, Lithuania. I haven’t been able to locate such a place so I’m hoping and assuming that in fact it might be Butrimonys. My grandmother, the paper states, came from Zidiskis, Lithuania, but again, no such place can be found, and nothing close to the spelling either. I hope to visit Lithuania someday and your website makes me even more excited about traveling there to walk in the footsteps of my ancestors.
Thanks again for your wonderful site!
