{"id":8650,"date":"2010-07-29T23:30:10","date_gmt":"2010-07-30T06:30:10","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/stephendanko.com\/blog\/index.php\/archives\/8650"},"modified":"2010-07-29T23:30:10","modified_gmt":"2010-07-30T06:30:10","slug":"the-little-mermaid-in-tivoli","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/stephendanko.com\/blog\/8650","title":{"rendered":"The Little Mermaid in Tivoli"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>While in Copenhagen I wanted to see the sculpture of The Little Mermaid, based on\u00c2\u00a0Hans Christian Andersen&#8217;s famous character .\u00a0\u00c2\u00a0The sculpture was created by Edvard Eriksen (who used his wife Elaine as a model) and placed in the harbor at Copenhagen. However, the original sculpture has been removed from the harbor and is currently in China for World Expo 2010. Edvard Eriksen&#8217;s family, however, possesses a second copy of the sculpture and has loaned the copy\u00c2\u00a0to Tivoli Gardens, where I was able to see it.
