Danko.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Click on the link for a PDF copy of the <a href=\"https:\/\/stephendanko.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2006\/12\/SGK-Likiszki-5-230.pdf\"><em>S\u0142ownik Geograficzny<\/em> entry for Liki\u0161k\u0117s<\/a>.&nbsp; The entry, translated from the Polish,&nbsp;states:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\"><p><strong>Likiszki,<\/strong> a village in the township of Butryma\u0144ce, Trocki Powiat [District], the 4th administrative circuit, 48 versts [1 verst = 1.0668 kilometers] from Troki, 5 homes, 42 inhabitants of which 41 are Catholic, and 1 is Orthodox.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<p>The <em>S\u0142ownik<\/em> generally indicates the location of the parish church, and for Butrymonys (Butryma\u0144ce), it appears that the parish is located in Butrymonys itself, although there is a reference to a sister parish in Punia.\u00a0 Oddly enough, there is no reference to the location of the parish church for Liki\u0161k\u0117s (Likiszki).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Finally, the reason there are two spellings for the names of these villages is simply that the current locations are spelled in Lithuanian, but the <em>S\u0142ownik<\/em> spellings are Polish.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-center\">Copyright \u00a9 2006 by Stephen J.
