This happened in the village of Krasne on the twenty-sixth day of July \/ the seventh day of August in the year one-thousand eight-hundred thirty-six at the hour of six in the evening. There appeared the well-born Leon Che\u0142chowski, owner of his parts [of the village] and residing in Mosaki Starawie\u015b, thirty-three years of age, accompanied by the well-born J\u00f3zef Che\u0142chowski, twenty-five years of age and Jakub Milewski, thirty-five years of age, both owners of their parts in Mosaki Starawie\u015b, and he showed us a child of the female sex born in Mosaki Starawie\u015b on the twenty-fourth day of July \/ fifth day of August<\/p><\/blockquote>\n Unfortunately, the priest never finished writing this record, leaving off the names of the child, the mother, and the Godparents. The reason I know this is the correct record for Marianna Che\u0142chowska is that it occurs in the correct year, based on her age at the time of her marriage and the birth of her daughter Wiktoria, it occurs in the correct village, and the father’s name is correct. Also, based on the knowledge of the other children born to Leon Che\u0142chowski and Ewa Go\u017cdziewska, none of the other children named in the birth and baptismal records were named Marianna.<\/p>\n I could still be wrong about this being Marianna Che\u0142chowska’s birth and baptismal record, but all the known facts fit and there are no other choices.<\/p>\n Marianna Che\u0142chowska would later marry Jan Chodkowski, my 2nd cousin, 4X removed.<\/p>\n Copyright \u00a9 2010 by Stephen J.
