Translated from the Polish, the record reads:<\/p>\n Beginning in the Year 1827 This happened in the village of Podo\u015b on the first day of January in the year one-thousand eight-hundred twenty-seven at the hour of ten before noon. There appeared the well-born \u0141ukasz Bartold, owner of a part [of the village] and residing in Bobino Wielkie, thirty-eight years of age, accompanied by the well-born Mateusz Bobi\u0144ski, thirty-three years of age and Pawe\u0142 Chodkowski, twenty-six years of age, owners of their parts [of the village] and residing in Bobino Wielkie, and he showed us a child of the female sex born in Bobino Wielkie on the fifteenth day of December of the last year at the hour of five in the afternoon of his wife Scholastyka n\u00e9e Bobi\u0144ska, thirty years of age. At Holy Baptism performed on this day the child was given the name Katarzyna and her Godparents were the afore-mentioned Mateusz Bobi\u0144ski and Tekla Chodkowska. This document was read aloud to the declarants and witnesses and was signed by Us and Mateusz Bobi\u0144ski; the father and the second witness do not know how to write. Katarzyna Bartold was the wife of my 5th cousin, 3X removed.<\/p>\n While this record was found in the metrical books of the P\u0142oniawy parish, the record itself states that it was recorded in Podo\u015b. I assume that this means that Bobino Wielkie was part of the Podo\u015b parish in 1827 but, later, the Podo\u015b parish was closed and the village was attached to the P\u0142oniawy parish and the metrical books moved to P\u0142oniawy.<\/p>\n Copyright \u00a9 2010 by Stephen J.
