Translated from the Polish, the record reads:<\/p>\n Chelchy Dzierski\u00c2\u00a0\u00c2\u00a0\u00c2\u00a0\u00c2\u00a0 14.<\/p>\n This happened in the village of Karniewo on the thirtieth day of March in the year one-thousand eight-hundred sixty-seven at the hour of four in the afternoon. There appeared Jan Chodkowski, thirty-six years of age and J\u00f3zef \u0141yszkowski, forty-five years of age, both owners of a part [of the village] and residing in [one word?], and they declared that on the twenty-eighth day of the same month and year at the hour of three in the afternoon, Miko\u0142aj Chodkowski died, thirty-two years of age, owner of the noble parts [of the village], son of the deceased married couple Jan [Chodkowski] and Joanna n\u00e9e Kobyli\u0144ska. He left behind his widowed wife Zuzanna n\u00e9e Chodkowska. After visual confirmation of the death of Miko\u0142aj Chodkowski, this document was read aloud to the declarants who do not know how to write and was signed only by Us, the pastor of the parish of Karniewo, maintaining the registers of the civil state.
