Translated from the Polish, the record reads:<\/p>\n 89 .\u00a0\u00c2\u00a0\u00c2\u00a0\u00c2\u00a0 35 .\u00a0\u00c2\u00a0\u00c2\u00a0\u00c2\u00a0 Gardzienice. This happened in the town of Piaski wielkie on the nineteenth day of May in the year one-thousand eight-hundred sixty-seven at the hour of twelve noon. We make it known that in the presence of witnesses: Stanis\u0142aw [Tlenis?], thirty years of age, and Wawrzeniec [Bis?], thirty years of age, farmers in Gardzienice, on this day a religious marriage was contracted between: Jan Da\u0144ko, a farm hand, widower after Ma\u0142gorzata n\u00e9e Korbus who died on the sixth of February in this same year, son of Wojciech Da\u0144ko and his wife Agnieszka n\u00e9e Smyka, a sheep farmer in Ole\u015bniki, born in Stryj\u00f3w, for three years in the service of this one, thirty years of age, and the maiden Salomea Ciesielka, daughter of Adam Ciesielka and his wife El\u017cbieta n\u00e9e Nieszporek, farmers in Gardzienice, born in Gardzienice and residing there with her parents, twenty years of age. This wedding was preceded by three readings of the banns, on the fifth, twelfth, and nineteenth of this same month and year. The newlyweds stated that they had made no prenuptial agreement between them. Oral consent for this marriage contract was given by the parents of the newlyweds who were present for the recording of the marriage. This document was read aloud to the declarants and witnesses who do not know how to write, and was signed by Us. Earlier in the year 1867, Jan Danko’s wife Ma\u0142gorzata and son Franciszek died. With this marriage, Jan wasted no time finding a new wife to take care of his house and family. This document provides two clues to the origin of this family: Jan was born in Stryj\u00f3w (Tarnog\u00f3ra Parish) and his parents resided in Ole\u015bniki (Fajs\u0142awice Parish). Both of these places are just to the south of Piaski. The Tarnog\u00f3ra metrical records from 1810-1910 and the Fajs\u0142awice metrical records from\u00c2\u00a0 1825-1910 have been microfilmed by the Family History Library.<\/p>\n Copyright \u00a9 2009 by Stephen J.
