Translated from the Polish, the record reads:<\/p>\n 116. Gardzienice.<\/p>\n This happened in the town of Piaski wielkie on the fifth day of September in the year one-thousand eight-hundred sixty-seven at the hour of twelve noon. There appeared Grzegorz J\u0105czyk, forty-five years of age, and Szymon I\u0105k, thirty years of age, farmers in the village of Gardzienice, and they stated that on the third day of the same month and year at the hour of eight in the morning, Franciszek Da\u0144ko died in the village of Gardzienice, son of Jan Da\u0144ko, a farm hand in Gardzienice, and his wife, the deceased Ma\u0142gorzata n\u00e9e Korbus, born in Gardzienice and residing there with his father, one year old. After visual confirmation of the death of Franciszek Da\u0144ko, this document was read aloud to the declarants who do not know how to write, and was signed by Us. Franciszek Da\u0144ko died just a year after his birth and just seven months after the death of his mother. This left Jan Da\u0144ko a widower with a five-year-old son, Szymon Tadeusz Da\u0144ko, to raise on his own.<\/p>\n Copyright \u00a9 2009 by Stephen J.
