<\/a><\/p>\nBirth and Baptismal Record for Micha\u0142 Markiewicz<\/em><\/p>\n Click on the link for a PDF copy of the Birth and Baptismal Record for Micha\u0142 Markiewicz – 1890<\/a> .\u00a0 The record states:<\/p>\n 117 .\u00a0 Braciejowice – Markiewicz Micha\u0142<\/strong><\/p>\n This happened in the village of Piotrawin on the 22nd day of\u00c2\u00a0July \/\u00c2\u00a03rd day of\u00c2\u00a0August 1890 at\u00c2\u00a0one in the afternoon .\u00a0 Tomasz Markiewicz appeared in person, age 31, a house owner in the village of Braciejowice, in the presence of\u00c2\u00a0Piotr Fatz, age 29, and\u00c2\u00a0Franciszek Turski, age 52, house owners in\u00c2\u00a0the village of Braciejowice – and he presented to us a child of the male sex, stating that it was born in the village of Braciejowice on this date, the 22nd of\u00c2\u00a0July \/ 3rd of\u00c2\u00a0August\u00c2\u00a0of this year, at\u00c2\u00a0six o’clock after midnight\u00c2\u00a0– of his lawful wife Franciszka nee Piontkowa, age 25 .\u00a0 To this child at Holy Baptism performed on this date was given the name of Micha\u0142, and his godparents were the above-mentioned\u00c2\u00a0Piotr Fata and Agnieszka Makosiowa .\u00a0 This document was read to the declarant father and to the witnesses, all of whom are illiterate, and signed by us.<\/p>\n Rev. C. Trembi\u0144ski, pastor of the Piotrawin Parish -\u00c2\u00a0Keeper of the documents of the civil state<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n The Birth and Baptismal Record shows that\u00c2\u00a0Micha\u0142 (Michael)\u00c2\u00a0was\u00c2\u00a0born at\u00c2\u00a06 AM\u00c2\u00a0on\u00c2\u00a0August 3, 1890\u00c2\u00a0in Braciejowice, baptized at\u00c2\u00a01 PM on\u00c2\u00a0the same day\u00c2\u00a0in Piotrawin, his father was Tomasz (Thomas) Markiewicz, his mother was Franciszka (Frances) Piontkowa, his godparents were Piotr (Peter) Fatz and Agnieszka (Agnes) Makosiowa, and he was baptized by the Rev. C. Trembi\u0144ski.<\/p>\n The surnames of the two women are feminized .\u00a0 The masculine form of the surname Makosiowa is probably Makosz, and that of the surname Piontkowa (or Pi\u0105tkowa) is probably Pi\u0105tek .\u00a0 One of the named witnesses was Franciszek Turski, who was also a witness for the baptism of Stanis\u0142aw Markiewicz.<\/p>\n At the very top of the document, the page number in the record book is noted – page 355 .\u00a0 Also, there is a stamp .\u00a0 I’m not sure what the first word is, but the second line says “Nowo Aleksandryski” .\u00a0 The villages of Braciejowice and Piotrawin were in the Nowo Aleksandryja Powiat, Lublin Gubernia, Kingdom of Poland, Russia.<\/p>\n According to this document, Tomasz was born in 1858-1859 and Franciszka was born in 1865-1866 .\u00a0 When considering\u00c2\u00a0their ages\u00c2\u00a0in the three previous baptismal records, Tomasz was born between 1857 and 1859, and\u00c2\u00a0Franciszka was born between 1862 and 1868.<\/p>\n Copyright \u00a9 2006 by Stephen J.
