{"id":435,"date":"2006-07-30T22:20:42","date_gmt":"2006-07-31T05:20:42","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/stephendanko.com\/blog\/2006\/07\/30\/photographs-from-kazimierz-dolny\/"},"modified":"2020-10-05T11:29:56","modified_gmt":"2020-10-05T18:29:56","slug":"photographs-from-kazimierz-dolny","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/stephendanko.com\/blog\/435","title":{"rendered":"Photographs from Kazimierz Dolny"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><a title=\"Kazimierz Dolny\" href=\"http:\/\/www.kazimierz-news.com.pl\/wersjaa.html\">Kazimierz Dolny<\/a> is a Polish village on the Vistula River and is located about 10 miles northeast of <a title=\"Braciejowice\" href=\"https:\/\/pl.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Braciejowice\">Braciejowice<\/a>.&nbsp; Since I&#8217;ve never&nbsp;been to Braciejowice, the ancestral village of the Markiewicz family, I can&#8217;t show any photographs of Braciejowice.&nbsp; I did, however,&nbsp;travel to Kazimierz Dolny with two friends in the fall of 2000.&nbsp; I&#8217;m not sure who took these photos, since all three of us took many similar pictures in Kazimierz Dolny.&nbsp; In any case,&nbsp;these photos were taken by either Tom Tarnowski, Bob McCann, or by me.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image is-resized is-style-default\"><a class=\"imagelink\" href=\"https:\/\/stephendanko.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2006\/07\/Kazimierz-Dolny-Hill-of-3-C.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/stephendanko.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2006\/07\/Kazimierz-Dolny-Hill-of-3-C.jpg\" alt=\"Hill of Three Crosses\" width=\"600\" height=\"400\"\/><\/a><figcaption><strong>The Hill of Three Crosses<\/strong><br>SOURCE: The Hill of Three Crosses (Kazimierz Dolny, Pu\u0142awy Powiat, Lublin Voivodeship, Third Polish Republic); photographed by Stephen J. Danko in October 2000.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>The Baroque Monastery of the Reformed Franciscan Order, as&nbsp;seen from the Hill of Three Crosses, is the large structure in the upper left of the picture.&nbsp; The Monastery was originally built in&nbsp;the 17th Century.&nbsp; The Vistula River can be seen in the upper right of this photo.&nbsp; The hotel in which I stayed can be seen in the lower right &#8211; the building with the peaked, red roof &#8211; Restauracia-Pensjonacik &#8220;Pod Wietrzn\u0105 G\u00f3r\u0105&#8221; (the Restaurant and Pension &#8220;Under the Windy Mountain&#8221;).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image is-resized is-style-default\"><a class=\"imagelink\" href=\"https:\/\/stephendanko.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2006\/07\/Kazimierz-Dolny-Church.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/stephendanko.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2006\/07\/Kazimierz-Dolny-Church.jpg\" alt=\"Kazimierz Dolny Church\" width=\"600\" height=\"400\"\/><\/a><figcaption><strong>Parafia \u015bw.
