I attended the Ontario Genealogical Society Conference held in Oakville, Ontario, Canada\u00c2\u00a0from May 29-31, 2009. There, I finally met\u00c2\u00a0several genealogy colleagues and friends in person, including Louise St. Denis from the National Institute for Genealogical Studies<\/a>, Sharon Murphy from Timelines Genealogical Research<\/a> and fellow bloggers Janet Iles from Janet the Researcher<\/a> and Brenda Dougall Merriman from Brenda Dougall Merriman<\/a>.<\/p>\n

It wasn’t hard to meet these people. Louise and Sharon recognized me when I walked into the their workshops\u00c2\u00a0at the conference. Brenda spotted me wandering around\u00c2\u00a0in the vendor area and came over to give me a hug.<\/p>\n

My encounter with Janet, however, was like something out of Psychic Genealogy. I was looking for a place to sit down and eat lunch on Saturday and spotted an empty chair across from a friendly looking conference attendee who turned out to be Janet!<\/p>\n
