Translated from the German, the record reads:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>21.<br \/>\nPhilipp Lather<\/p>\n<p>1849<br \/>\n20.<\/p>\n<p>At six o&#8217;clock in the evening of May fourteenth in the year of the Lord eighteen-hundred forty-nine, after a credible report, the fifth child and second son was born to Balthasar Lather, citizen and master tailor here, and his wife Elisabetha [one word?] n\u00e9e Lather and, on the twenty-eighth of the same month, the child was baptized and given the name:<\/p>\n<p>\u00c2\u00a0\u00c2\u00a0\u00c2\u00a0\u00c2\u00a0\u00c2\u00a0\u00c2\u00a0\u00c2\u00a0\u00c2\u00a0\u00c2\u00a0 Philipp<\/p>\n<p>The sponsor was:<\/p>\n<p>Philipp Sch\u00ed\u00a4fer, legitimate little son of the local miller, Balthasar Sch\u00ed\u00a4fer but, because he has not yet been confirmed, the father stood in as baptismal witness.
