{"id":335,"date":"2006-07-04T19:46:03","date_gmt":"2006-07-05T02:46:03","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/stephendanko.com\/blog\/2006\/07\/04\/spelunking-with-my-nephew\/"},"modified":"2006-07-04T19:46:03","modified_gmt":"2006-07-05T02:46:03","slug":"spelunking-with-my-nephew","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/stephendanko.com\/blog\/335","title":{"rendered":"Spelunking with My Nephew"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>I spent\u00c2\u00a0a day with my nephew Lukas and we went exploring two caves that are accessible to the public in upstate New York:\u00a0 <a title=\"Howe Caverns\" href=\"http:\/\/www.howecaverns.com\/\">Howe Caverns<\/a> and <a title=\"Secret Caverns\" href=\"http:\/\/www.secretcaverns.com\/\">Secret Caverns<\/a> .\u00a0 Here are some pictures from our trip .\u00a0 Howe Caverns is much more developed than Secret Caverns .\u00a0 Howe Caverns has a brick path on the cave floor, while Secret Caverns has a much rougher floor .\u00a0 In the pictures, most of the color comes from strategically placed colored lights .\u00a0 The natural colors of the formations range from white to tan to black with rose hues in some places.<\/p>\n<p align=\"center\"><a class=\"imagelink\" title=\"Howe Caverns 2\" href=\"https:\/\/stephendanko.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2006\/07\/Howe-Caverns-002.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" id=\"image328\" style=\"width: 284px;
