{"id":3349,"date":"2008-12-28T00:01:04","date_gmt":"2008-12-28T07:01:04","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/stephendanko.com\/blog\/2008\/12\/28\/reconstructing-the-izbicki-families-of-norwich-connecticut-marriage-records\/"},"modified":"2021-10-03T16:02:03","modified_gmt":"2021-10-03T23:02:03","slug":"reconstructing-the-izbicki-families-of-norwich-connecticut-marriage-records","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/stephendanko.com\/blog\/3349","title":{"rendered":"Reconstructing the Izbicki Families of Norwich, Connecticut &#8211; Marriage Records"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>While I was researching the Izbicki family of Worcester, Massachusetts (related to me by the marriage of my cousin Rita Meleski), I was contacted by someone who was also interested in the Izbicki surname, albeit a line of Izbickis who immigrated to Norwich, Connecticut.<\/p>\n<p>The Family History Library has microfilmed a number of the early 20th century vital record books from Norwich and, in those microfilms, I found the records for 23 births, 13 marriages (including one where two Izbickis wed each other), and 6 deaths of individuals with the Izbicki surname .\u00a0To view these records, please follow the link to <a href=\"https:\/\/stephendanko.com\/blog\/izbicki-documents\/\">Izbicki Documents<\/a> (there&#8217;s also a link in the sidebar of this blog).<\/p>\n<p>How can these records help understand the relationships among all the people mentioned in these records? Are all these Izbickis related to each other? Did they all originate from the same village in Poland?<\/p>\n<p>At first pass, I examined the marriage records and was able to discern four family groups and four other individuals who are not siblings with any of the others.<\/p>\n<p>The first family group includes children of <strong>Wojciech Izbicki<\/strong> and <strong>Teofila Gwiazdowska<\/strong>:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Alexander Izbicki<\/strong> who married <strong>Josephine Danielowicz<\/strong> on 02 Jul 1900 and<\/li>\n<li><strong>Veronica Izbicki<\/strong> who married <strong>Ladislas Cieslikowski<\/strong> on 21 Sep 1903.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The second family group includes children of <strong>Andrzej Izbicki<\/strong> and <strong>Emilia Gwiazdowska<\/strong>:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Paulina Izbicki<\/strong> who married <strong>Ladislas Krzesicki<\/strong> on 22 Sep 1903,<\/li>\n<li><strong>Stephanie Izbicki<\/strong> who married <strong>Ladislas Namistko<\/strong> on 25 Sep 1905,<\/li>\n<li><strong>Frances Izbicki<\/strong> who married <strong>Kazimir Szalkowski<\/strong> on 16 Feb 1914, and<\/li>\n<li><strong>Anna Izbicki<\/strong> who married <strong>Jan Janik<\/strong> on 10 Aug 1915.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The third family group includes children of <strong>Ignacy Izbicki<\/strong> and <strong>Emilia Pachuka<\/strong>:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Leocadia Izbicki<\/strong> who married <strong>Anthony Nowosatko<\/strong> on 23 Jun 1908 and<\/li>\n<li><strong>Pauline Izbicki<\/strong> who married <strong>Peter Sawrcki<\/strong> on 01 May 1912.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The fourth family group includes children of <strong>Dominik Izbicki<\/strong> and <strong>Michalina Cholod<\/strong>:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Josephine Izbicki<\/strong> who married <strong>Anthony Izbicki<\/strong> on 08 May 1911 and<\/li>\n<li><strong>Stephania Izbicki<\/strong> who married <strong>\u00a0John Jabokowksi<\/strong> on 19 Jan 1915.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The remaining individuals are:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Stanislaw Izbicki<\/strong> who was the son of <strong>Andrzej Izbicki<\/strong> and <strong>Wiktoria Bierdziewska<\/strong> and who married <strong>Mary Krzesiewska<\/strong> on 20 Feb 1906;<\/li>\n<li><strong>Victoria Izbicki<\/strong> who was the daughter of <strong>Antoni Izbicki<\/strong> and <strong>Josephine Kovenkwicz<\/strong> and who married <strong>Alexander Wawzynwicz<\/strong> on 06 Jun 1910;<\/li>\n<li><strong>Anthony Izbicki<\/strong> who was the son of <strong>J\u00f3zef Izbicki<\/strong> and <strong>Wiktoria Zdanzewicz<\/strong> and who married <strong>Josephine Izbicki<\/strong> on 08 May 1911; and<\/li>\n<li><strong>Alexandra Izbicki<\/strong> who was the daughter of <strong>Piotr Izbicki<\/strong> and <strong>Antonia Sotokowska<\/strong> and who married <strong>Stanislaw Wawrznowiec<\/strong> on 21 Oct 1914.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p align=\"center\">Copyright \u00a9 2008 by Stephen J.
