The topic for the next Carnival of Genealogy is “3 Wishes!”, where we are asked to make a list of gifts we’d like to receive from three of our ancestors.<\/p>\n
1 .\u00a0 I wish I had the trunk that my grandmother, Marianna Dziurzy\u0144ska Danko, brought with her from Poland. I’m sure the trunk wasn’t much to look at, but I’m sure it’s full of memories. I’d also like to see what she brought to America inside the trunk.<\/p>\n
2 .\u00a0\u00c2\u00a0I wish I had a\u00c2\u00a0copy of the words and music to the songs\u00c2\u00a0sung by\u00c2\u00a0my great grandmother, Anastasia Wojnowska Chmielewska .\u00a0 While visiting Lithuania last year, I spoke\u00c2\u00a0with one of Anastasia’s neighbors. He said that\u00c2\u00a0he often heard her singing songs that she, herself,\u00a0invented. One day, the neighbors heard\u00c2\u00a0Anastasia singing a very plaintive song and knew from the sound of the tune that my great grandfather had passed on.<\/p>\n
3 .\u00a0\u00c2\u00a0I wish for a copy of the Coat of Arms of the clan to which my Niedzia\u0142kowski ancestors belonged. I believe my Niedzia\u0142kowski ancestors belonged to one of four clans: Na\u0142\u0119cz<\/a>, Prawdzic<\/a>, Radwan<\/a>, or Rawicz<\/a>, but I have not yet discovered which .\u00a0My most distant Niedzia\u0142kowski ancestor was Antoni Niedzia\u0142kowski who lived in \u0141\u0119ki, part of the parish of Pa\u0142uki in ziemia ciechanowska, wojew\u00f3dztwo mazowieckie, Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth. Perhaps he could send me the Coat of Arms of the clan to which the family belonged.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n
And, so if my ancestors are reading this, perhaps they could be so kind as to leave these gifts under the tree on Christmas morning. I would be very grateful.<\/p>\n
