Translated from the French the record reads:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>Bap[tism] of Marie Gamache<\/p>\n<p>In the year one-thousand seven-hundred twelve, on the seventh day of the month of May by me, the undersigned priest, performing the functions of pastor, was baptized Marie Gamache daughter of Nicolas Gamache and Marie DuBuisson his wife, born on the sixth of this month. The Godfather was Louis Belanger and the Godmother was Marie Gamache who were not able to sign as required by law .\u00a0\u00c2\u00a0\u00c2\u00a0\u00c2\u00a0 thus signed\u00c2\u00a0\u00c2\u00a0\u00c2\u00a0\u00c2\u00a0 LeRiche, Priest<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>In this record, the mother&#8217;s maiden name is written as Marie DuBuisson, but the mother was better known as Marie Dion. In 1634, Jean Guyon (Marie Dion&#8217;s grandfather) settled in Beauport and received a rear fief near rivi\u00ed\u00a8re du Buisson (river of bushes). Jean Guyon attached the name du Buisson to his own name\u00c2\u00a0and became known as\u00c2\u00a0Jean Guyon du Buisson. Some of Jean Guyon du Buisson&#8217;s descendants changed their surname to Dion.<\/p>\n<p>This record can be found as image 14\/149 in the Qu\u00e9bec Vital Records (Drouin Collection), 1621-1967 on Ancestry.com as part of the records for L&#8217;Islet-sur-Mer 1683-1762.
