Translated from the French the record reads:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>Baptism of Louis Gamache<\/p>\n<p>On the twenty-seventh of February in the year one-thousand seven-hundred [three] was (which was privately baptized at the moment of birth from the mother because of a suspicion of danger) baptized under condition performed according to the sentiment of St. Charles: acts part 4 regarding administrative baptism, Louis, son of Louis Gamache and Ang\u00e9lique Minville, the father and mother legally married, born on the twenty-fifth of the same month and year. The Godfather was Nicolas Gamache and the Godmother was Fran\u00ed\u00a7oise Minville who have stated that they do not know how to sign .\u00a0 B[rother] Pierre LePoivre,\u00a0Recollect Missionary<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>This infant was baptized privately at the moment of birth and was conditionally baptized at the church two days later. The conditional baptism was performed to ensure that the child was properly baptized in case the ceremony conducted at birth was not correctly performed.<\/p>\n<p>This record can be found as image 17\/27 in the Qu\u00e9bec Vital Records (Drouin Collection), 1621-1967 on Ancestry.com as part of the records for Cap-St-Ignace 1697-1706.
