Charles Edward Paqueth solemnized the marriage<\/div>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p align=\"left\">Pascal Poirier made history as the <a href=\"https:\/\/stephendanko.com\/blog\/2006\/04\/28\/a-marriage-in-new-brunswick\/\">first Acadian appointed to the Canadian Parliament<\/a>. He served in parliament for a total of <a href=\"http:\/\/www2.parl.gc.ca\/Parlinfo\/Files\/Parliamentarian.aspx?Item=8cb36f49-94f1-4eea-bf6b-457a12d7c192&#038;Language=E\">48 years, 6 months, 18 days<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p align=\"left\">Pascal&#8217;s wife, Mathilda Celeste Casgrain, was the daughter of another senator, <a href=\"http:\/\/www2.parl.gc.ca\/Parlinfo\/Files\/Parliamentarian.aspx?Item=44398c9b-2572-4f10-8ec0-03f4de47e3da&#038;Language=E\">Joseph Philippe Baby Casgrain<\/a>, another prestigious figure in the history of Canada.<\/p>\n<p align=\"left\">This document\u00c2\u00a0shows that Pascal Poirier was the son of Simon Poirier and Henriette Arsenault. As such, he was the grand uncle of Leo McGinn, who in turn was the husband of my aunt, Bertha (Bronis\u0142awa) Danko.<\/p>\n<p align=\"left\">I had previously known that Leo McGinn was related to Pascal Poirier, but I did not know the relationship.
