Grosser Kurfurst<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The <a href=\"https:\/\/stephendanko.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2006\/06\/IMM-Dziurzynski-Jan-and-Golinski-Pawel-1912.pdf\">Passenger Manifest\u00a0for Jan Dziurzy\u0144ski and Pawe\u0142 Go\u0142inski &#8211; 1912<\/a> states that:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Johann Dzuzynski (line 10 of the manifest) and Pawel Golinski (line 11 of the manifest) traveled on the S.S. Grosser Kurfurst<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>They departed Bremen on May 10, 1912 and arrived in New York on May 21, 1912<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Johann was 32 years old and married; Pawel was 22 years old and single<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>They were both farm laborers<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>They were both\u00a0Polish citizens of Austria from \u015aliwnica in Galicia<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Johann had a wife Karolina in \u015aliwnica and Pawel had a father Jan in \u015aliwnica<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>They were both traveling to 3 Moran Court in Worcester, Massachusetts<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>They were planning to stay with Michal Danko, Johann&#8217;s brother-in-law and Pawel&#8217;s friend<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Johann was 5 feet 7 inches tall with blond hair and blue eyes<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Pawel was 5 feet 5 inches tall with brown hair and brown eyes<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>They were both born in \u015aliwnica<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>There is a notation on Pawel&#8217;s record:\u00a0 1-173622 531-36, indicating that Pawel had applied for citizenship in Naturalization District 1, and Certificate of Arrival Number 173622 had been requested on May 31, 1936<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter\"><a class=\"imagelink\" href=\"https:\/\/stephendanko.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2006\/06\/Manifest-Golinski.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/stephendanko.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2006\/06\/Manifest-Golinski.jpg\" alt=\"passenger manifest\"\/><\/a><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-center\"><em>First\u00a0Half of the Passenger Manifest<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter\"><a class=\"imagelink\" href=\"https:\/\/stephendanko.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2006\/06\/Manifest-Golinski2.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/stephendanko.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2006\/06\/Manifest-Golinski2.jpg\" alt=\"passenger manifest 2\"\/><\/a><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-center\"><em>Second Half of the Passenger Manifest<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The record holds several useful clues for my research.\u00a0First, my great uncle was using the surname Dziurzy\u0144ski (rather than the surname Dziura) at the time he immigrated.\u00a0Second, he stated that he was born in \u015aliwnica, not Sielnica, where I think my grandmother was born.\u00a0\u015aliwnica is in the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.parafiadubiecko.pl\/\">Dubiecko parish<\/a>, but Sielnica is in the Dylagowa parish (now part of the <a href=\"http:\/\/dynow.przemyska.pl\/\">Dyn\u00f3w parish<\/a>).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-center\">Copyright \u00a9 2006-2026 by Stephen J.
