Translated from the Latin, the record states:<\/p>\n 12 S\u0142owko Mosaki 17 February<\/u><\/p>\n I, Sebastian Kowalewski CRLatt have baptized an infant by the name of Walenty, born in the afternoon on the 10th of the present month, son of the Nobles Lucjus Niedzia\u0142kowski and J\u00f3zefa Gozdziewska, a legally married couple. The Godparents in the Sacred Font are the Nobles Antoni Gierwatowski and Agata Wasielewska.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n As with most other records from this location and time period, one must refer to a previous record to learn the year of the baptism.<\/p>\n This record is somewhat unusual in that it records the date of birth and further states that the birth occurred in the afternoon. Most Polish records from this time period are silent on the day of birth, much less the time of birth.<\/p>\n I don’t know who these Niedzia\u0142kowskis are, but they lived near my ancestors.
