This entry is for a village which belongs to the Szwelice parish.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>Nazwy Miejscowe Polski<\/em>\u00a0indicates that Pomaski Wielkie was in the Szelk\u00f3w Gmina, Ostro\u0142\u0119ka Voivodeship in the years 1975-1998 and was located 5.5 kilometers southwest of Mak\u00f3w Mazowiecki. Mentions of the village include: \u201cThe Duke gave Strachenycze to the said Pomaskys, heirs of We\u0142en, 10 manors around his area; heir of <em>Pomasky<\/em> in (1414-25) 1456, <em>Pomasky<\/em> in 1427, <em>Pomasky<\/em> in 1436 and 1539, <em>Pomasky<\/em> in 1483, <em>Pomassky<\/em> in 1495, <em>Pomaski<\/em> in 1514, <em>Pomaski<\/em> in 1582, <em>Pomaski w.<\/em> in 1783, <em>Pomaski wielkie<\/em> in 1827, <em>Pomaski Wielkie<\/em> in 1887, and <em>Pomaski Wielkie, -mask -kich, pomaskowski<\/em> in 1971.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The name of the village of Pomaski comes from the personal name <em>Pomaska<\/em> \u200b\u200b(: <em>pomaza\u0107<\/em> &#8216;to anoint&#8217;), in the first person plural.
