Two entries are for villages called Rostki-Kaptury and Rostki-Str\u00f3\u017cne that belong to the parish of Szelk\u00f3w. Translated from the Polish, the entries read:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 4.) <strong>Rostki<\/strong> Kaptury, a village of nobility and peasants, and 5.) <strong>Rostki<\/strong> Str\u00f3\u017cne, a village of nobility, Mak\u00f3w powiat, Sielc gmina, Szelk\u00f3w parish, 12 versts [1 verst = 1.07 kilometers] from Mak\u00f3w. In 1827, Rostki Kaptury had 8 houses and 57 inhabitants; Rostki Str\u00f3\u017cne had 12 houses and 70 inhabitants. The Rostki Kaptury estate (letter BE) in 1879 had an area of \u200b\u200b384 m\u00f3rgs [Gerald Ortell&#8217;s book on Polish Parish Records states that in the Russian partition 1 m\u00f3rg = 1.388 acres]: arable land and gardens 129 m\u00f3rgs, meadows 38 m\u00f3rgs, pastures 23 m\u00f3rgs, forest 185 m\u00f3rgs, uncultivated land 9 m\u00f3rgs; 8 wooden buildings, unmanaged forest, brickyard, peat deposits.
