Translated from the Polish, the entry reads:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; <strong>Sielc<\/strong> 1.) Nowy and Stary, a village and manor on the Narew River, Mak\u00f3w powiat, Sielc gmina, Szelk\u00f3w parish, 14 kilometers from Mak\u00f3w. In 1870, there was a distillery here. In 1827, there were 22 houses and 175 inhabitants. On January 30, 1868, a brilliant meteorite, visible throughout the country, fell here. The Sielc estate consisted in 1870 of the manors of Sielc and Nowina Sielc, with a total area of \u200b\u200b2088 m\u00f3rgs [Gerald Ortell&#8217;s book on Polish Parish Records states that in the Russian partition 1 m\u00f3rg = 1.388 acres]: arable land and gardens 641 m\u00f3rgs, meadows 178 m\u00f3rgs, pastures 83 m\u00f3rgs, water 151 m\u00f3rgs, forest 827 m\u00f3rgs, thickets 168 m\u00f3rgs, uncultivated land 39 m\u00f3rgs; 6 brick buildings, 13 wooden buildings. The estate included the following villages: Sielc village, 24 inhabitants, 334 morgens; Bindu\u017cka village, 17 inhabitants, 208 m\u00f3rgs; Olszewnica village, 7 inhabitants, 124 m\u00f3rgs; D\u0105br\u00f3wka village, 10 inhabitants, 60 m\u00f3rgs; Sitno settlement, 1 inhabitant, 31 m\u00f3rgs. Sielc gmina belongs to the 1st gmina district in Mak\u00f3w (post office), the gmina office is in the village of Ma\u0142ki. The gmina has 6302 inhabitants and 13,904 m\u00f3rgs of area. The gmina includes: 11 villages of minor nobility: Be\u0142dyki, Boruty, Chrzanowo, Chrzcony, \u0141asiewity, Mroczki Kawki, Mroczki R\u0119biszewo, Naperki, Nowiny or Sielc, Pruszki, Rostki-Stru\u017cne; 7 villages with a mixed population: Brzuze, Drozdowo, Krudunki, Ma\u0142ki, Rostki-Kaptury, S\u0142ojki or&#8230; S\u0142owiki and T\u0142uszcz, and 12 peasant villages: Bindu\u017cka, D\u0105br\u00f3wka, Dzb\u0105dz, \u0141achy, \u0141a\u015b, Mo\u015bciska, Mrozy, Olszewnica, Orle, Rzewnio, Sielc and Szygi Stare.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-center\">Copyright \u00a9 2026 by Stephen J.
