     Orzyc<\/strong> also known as Orzyce, a village and manor on the Orzyc River, in Mak\u00f3w powiat, Smrock gmina, Szelk\u00f3w parish. Located 7 versts [1 verst = 1.07 kilometers] from Mak\u00f3w. It has a gmina office, a brickyard, and 34 peasant settlements. In 1827, there were 16 houses and 117 inhabitants. The Orzyc manor, in 1871, covered 1528 m\u00f3rgs [Gerald Ortell’s book on Polish Parish Records states that in the Russian partition 1 m\u00f3rg = 1.388 acres]: 327 m\u00f3rgs of arable land and gardens, 10 m\u00f3rgs of meadows, 59 m\u00f3rgs of pastures, 982 m\u00f3rgs of forest, 127 m\u00f3rgs of scrubland, and 22 m\u00f3rgs of unproductive land; 1 brick building and 15 wooden buildings. The village of Orzyc had 34 settlements and 217 m\u00f3rgs of land.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
