The first entry is for a village currently in the Masovian Voivodeship.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>Nazwy Miejscowe Polski<\/em> indicates that Strachocin is two villages today (Magnuszew Du\u017cy and Magnuszew Ma\u0142y), which were in the Szelk\u00f3wa Gmina, Ostro\u0142\u0119ka Voivodeship in the years 1975-1998, and are 9 kilometers southeast of Mak\u00f3w Mazowiecki. Mentions of the village include <em>Magnuszoua<\/em> in 1402, Nicolai Koth de <em>Magnuschewo<\/em>, <em>Parwm<\/em> et <em>Magnum<\/em> <em>Magnuschewo<\/em> in 1423,  <em>Magnuschevicze<\/em>, Nicolay Koth de <em>Magnuschewo<\/em> in (1414-25) 1456, Nicolao Koth de <em>Magnuszewo<\/em> in 1425, <em>Magnuschewo<\/em> in 1478, <em>Magnuschevo Coth<\/em> in 1502, <em>Magnuschewo<\/em> in 1504, <em>Magnuschewo Kothowo<\/em> in (1513) 1517, <em>Magnusewo, Cothowo Magnusewo<\/em> in 1582, <em>Magnuszewo, Magnuszewo Kotowo<\/em> in 1783, <em>Magnuszewo wielkie, Magnuszewo kotowe<\/em> in 1827,  <em>Magnuszewo Wielkie, Magnuszewo Ma\u0142e<\/em> in 1839, <em>Magnuszewo Wielkie, Magnuszewo Ma\u0142e<\/em> al. <em>Kotowe<\/em> in 1884, <em>Magnuszew Du\u017cy, Magnuszew Ma\u0142y<\/em> in 1921, <em>Magnuszew Du\u017cy, -wa -\u017cego, Magnuszew Ma\u0142y, -wa -\u0142ego, magnuszewski<\/em> in 1971.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The name of the village originates from the name of a settlement <em>Magnusz<\/em>, with the suffix <em>-ewo<\/em> and a variant with the suffix <em>-ewice<\/em>. In the 15th century, <em>Magnuszewo Du\u017ce<\/em> (Latin: <em>Magnum<\/em>) was recorded, later followed by <em>Wielkie<\/em> and <em>Ma\u0142e<\/em> (Latin: <em>Parvum<\/em>), and in the 16th century, <em>Magnuszewo<\/em> and <em>Magnuszewo-Kot\/\/Kotowo\/\/Kotowe<\/em> appeared; the second part of the village names were derived from the surname <em>Kot<\/em>, also with the suffixes <em>-owo, -owe<\/em>.
