Translated from the French the record reads:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>Bap[tism] of Jean Gamache<\/p>\n<p>In the year seventeen four on the seventh day of the month of May was born a son to the marriage of Louis Gamache and Angelique Minville his wife of this parish and on the eighth of this same month and year was baptized by me, the missionary priest recollect of the parish of Cap St. Ignace and who was given the name of Jean. The godfather was Eustache Fortin and the Godmother was Anne Lemieux, the wife of Charles Bernier of the parish of Cap St. Ignace.
