The entire phrase was &#8220;&#8230; i okaza\u0142 nam dziecie p\u0142ci niewie\u015b\u0105cy &#8230;&#8221; and the word in question was &#8220;niewie\u015b\u0105cy&#8221;. I had no idea what &#8220;niewie\u015b\u0105cy&#8221; meant. The word was not in my Polish\/English dictionary, and Google Translate didn&#8217;t know what to do with it. Google Translate, did, however, define &#8220;niewie\u015bci&#8221; as &#8220;feminine&#8221;.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The&nbsp;<em><a href=\"https:\/\/sjp.pwn.pl\/\">S\u0142ownik j\u0119zyka polskiego<\/a><\/em>&nbsp;(Dictionary of the Polish language) describes the word&nbsp;<em>niewie\u015bci<\/em>&nbsp;in this way:<\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter size-large\"><a href=\"https:\/\/stephendanko.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/09\/Niewiesci.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"389\" height=\"1024\" src=\"https:\/\/stephendanko.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/09\/Niewiesci-389x1024.jpg\" alt=\"Niewie\u015bci\" class=\"wp-image-23453\" srcset=\"https:\/\/stephendanko.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/09\/Niewiesci-389x1024.jpg 389w, https:\/\/stephendanko.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/09\/Niewiesci-114x300.jpg 114w, https:\/\/stephendanko.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/09\/Niewiesci.jpg 396w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 389px) 100vw, 389px\" \/><\/a><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n\n<p><strong>women 1.<\/strong> <em>outdated. today in book<\/em>s (in colloquial speech sometimes <em>as a joke<\/em>) \u00abconcerning a woman, relating to, belonging to her; being a characteristic of a woman; feminine, unmanly\u00bb: the dark background of women&#8217;s caftans and shawls was interwoven with haphazard embroidery by flaxen hair and grey, coarse shirts of farmhands.
