Translated from the French the record reads:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>Bap[tism] of Genevi\u00ed\u00a8ve Gamache<\/p>\n<p>In the year one thousand six hundred ninety two, on the seventh of the month of October, was baptized by me the undersigned priest, Genevi\u00ed\u00a8ve, born on the fifth of October, daughter of Nicolas Gamache and Ursule Cloutier his wife. The record appears on the front of folio 12.<\/p>\n<p>One unusual aspect of this baptism is that the child was baptized <em>TWO<\/em> days after birth. In New France, infants were generally baptized on the day of their births or on the very day after.<\/p>\n<p>Since this record is from\u00c2\u00a0the civil copy of the parish register, the actual signatures do not appear on this copy.<\/p>\n<p align=\"center\">Copyright \u00a9 2008 by Stephen J.
