Translated from the French, the record states:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>Bap[tism]<br \/>\n[?] Lazard<br \/>\n[<strike>one word<\/strike>]<br \/>\nGamache<\/p>\n<p>In the year one thousand seven hundred forty four, on the eighth of January, by us, the missionary pastor of Cap St. Ignace, was baptized Lazard, born on the seventh of the same month, son of Pierre Gamache and Marie Genevieve Belanger, his legitimate spouse.
