S\u0142onna,<\/strong> S\u0142onne, S\u0142ownnica,<\/em> see S\u0142ona, S\u0142one, S\u0142onica.<\/em><\/p>\n

S\u0142onne,<\/strong> a village in the My\u015blenicki powiat [district], it lies in the mountains in the valley of the S\u0142onka stream (a tributary of the Rabe), to the east of Rabka at an elevation of 577 meters above sea level. To the north is the shadow of the property of Grzebie\u0144 mountain (679 meters above sea level), to the east is Szumi\u0105ca mountain (834 meters) and to the south Trubacz (940 meters). To the north it borders with Szumi\u0105ca and Zaute, to the east with Olsz\u00f3wka, to the south with Ponica. The village consists of 124 homes and 781 residents; 778 Roman Catholics and 3 Jews. The soil is cold, with oats on the slopes of the mountain. The larger estate ([one word?] Rabka) amounts to 242 m\u00f3rgs [in Galicia 1 m\u00f3rg = 1.422 acres] of forest; the lesser estate has 1045 m\u00f3rgs of soil, 48 m\u00f3rgs of meadows, 218 m\u00f3rgs of pastures, and 145 m\u00f3rgs of forest. Unfortunately, these entries do not describe the village for which I’m looking. This village is south of Krak\u00f3w; the village I want is further east.<\/p>\n

This entry does, however, give me clues to finding the correct village since it provides the alternate spellings of S\u0142ownnica, S\u0142ona, S\u0142one, and S\u0142onica. I’ll look for these spellings next.<\/p>\n
