J\u00f3zef, son of my 2nd great grand uncle Ludwik Niedzia\u0142kowski and his wife J\u00f3zefa Pomaska, died on 31 October 1862. J\u00f3zef was just eight days old.<\/p>\n

\nIt happened in the ecclesiastical village of Szwelice on the second day of November in the year one thousand eight hundred sixty two at ten o’clock before noon. There presented himself Ludwik Niedzia\u0142kowski, age twenty-eight, and J\u00f3zef Nossarzewski, age forty-five, owners of parts [of the village], residing in Pomaski, and they told us that two days ago, at six o’clock in the morning in Pomaski, there died J\u00f3zef Niedzia\u0142kowski, eight days old, the son of the married couple Ludwik and J\u00f3zefa n\u00e9e Pomaska Niedzia\u0142kowski. After presenting evidence of the death of J\u00f3zef Niedzia\u0142kowski, this document was read aloud to the witnesses and signed only by Us, because the witnesses cannot write.<\/p>\n

This entry is one of the Niedzia\u0142kowski family records from the Szwelice parish that I have not yet translated and posted, even though I’ve had this record for several years.<\/p>\n

I had previously extracted what I thought was the important information in this document. After I translated the entire document I realized that I had recorded that J\u00f3zef died on 02 November 1862 when, in fact, he died two days earlier, on All Hallows Eve.<\/p>\n
