Today, 03 September 2011, marks the debut of a new blog called The Catholic Gene<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Conceived by noted genealogy blogger Donna Pointkouski and authored by Cecile Marie Agata Wendt Jensen (Ceil) of Polonica Americana Research Institute<\/a>, Craig Manson of GeneaBlogie<\/a>, Denise Levenick of The Family Curator<\/a>, Donna Pointkouski of What’s Past is Prologue<\/a>, Jasia of Creative Gene<\/a>, Lisa A. Alzo of The Accidental Genealogist<\/a>, Lisa (aka Smallest Leaf<\/a>), Sheri Fenley of The Educated Genealogist<\/a>, and Stephen Danko of Steve’s Genealogy Blog<\/a> (that’s me!), this new blog celebrates genealogy and family history from a Catholic perspective. The footnoteMaven<\/a> is also expected to participate in The Catholic Gene.<\/p>\n

The authors will relate their experiences in family history research, discuss their favorite saints, share their memories of growing up Catholic, and who knows what else.<\/p>\n

The Catholic Gene blog is just born today, so don’t expect much content yet. Be sure, however, to visit the Authors<\/a> page where you can see the First Holy Communion photos of some of the authors and Wedding photos of the others.<\/p>\n

Please come and visit us. Unlike many of the churches I visited during my recent trip to the Mediterranean, you won’t have to cover your knees and shoulders when you enter The Catholic Gene<\/a>. I look forward to being part of this new venture with my fellow authors and you, our readers. Adeste fidelis!<\/p>\n
