Mary Veronica (n\u00e9e Kuchnicka) Izbicki filed a Petition for Naturalization with the Superior Court of Massachusetts in Worcester on 15 June 1938 and\u00c2\u00a0swore her Oath of Allegiance on 01 October 1938 .\u00a0 She filed her petition under the Cable Act of 22 September 1922 which stated (in part):<\/p>\n

That a woman who marries a citizen of the United States, after passage of this Act, or any woman whose husband is naturalized after passage of this Act, shall not become a citizen of the United Stat6es by reason of such marriage or naturalization but, if eligible to such citizenship, she may be naturalized upon full and complete compliance with all requirements of the naturalization laws with the following exceptions:<\/p>\n

(a) No declared intention be required.
\n(b) In lieu of the five year period of residence within the United States, Hawaii,\u00a0Alaska, or Puerto Rico for at least one year preceding the filing of the petition.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

\nthe United States was at St. Albans, Vt., under the name of Mary Veronica Kuchnicka on August 18, 1901, on the vessel by rail as shown by the certificate of my arrival attached hereto.
\n(7)\u00c2\u00a0 I am not a disbeliever in or opposed to organized government or a member of or affiliated with any organization of body of persons teaching disbelief in or opposed
\nto organized government .\u00a0 I am not a polygamist nor a believer in the practice of polygamy .\u00a0 I am attached to the principles of the Constitution of the United States
\nand well disposed to the good order and happiness of the United States .\u00a0 It is my intention to become a citizen of the United States and to renounce absolutely and forever all allegiance and fidelity to any foreign prince, potentate, state, or sovereignty, and particularly to GEORGE VI, BY THE GRACE OF GOD, OF GREAT BRITAIN,

\neach being severally, duly, and respectively sworn, deposes and says that he is a citizen of the United States of America; that he has personally known and has been acquainted in the United States with Mary Veronica Izbicki, the petitioner above mentioned, since 1926 and that to my personal knowledge the petitioner has resided in the United States
