Translated from the Polish, the record reads:<\/p>\n Borkowo 88<\/p>\n This happened in the village of Ma\u0142y P\u0142ock on the sixth \/ eighteenth day of May in the year one-thousand eight-hundred fifty-seven at the hour of two in the afternoon .\u00a0 There appeared Franciszek Go\u0142a\u015b<\/span>, a peasant farmer residing in Borkowo, thirty-five years of age, in the presence of Ignacy Cudnik, thirty-three years of age, together with Roch Niedzwiecki, forty years of age, both farmers from Borkowo, and he showed Us a child of the male sex born in Borkowo yesterday at the hour of twelve at night of his wife Franciszka<\/span> n\u00e9e Gr\u0119dziszewska, thirty-four years of age .\u00a0 To this child at Holy Baptism performed on this day was given the name Stanis\u0142aw<\/span>, and his Godparents were Mateusz Go\u0142a\u015b and Rozalia Cudnik .\u00a0 This document was read aloud to the illiterate declarant father and witnesses.<\/p>\n [signed] The Reverend Franciszek Sakowicz, Head of the Parish of Ma\u0142y P\u0142ock<\/p><\/blockquote>\n The priest originally neglected to write out the word “day” in this record, so he added the missing information in the margin .\u00a0 The marginal notation reads: \u00e2\u20ac\u0153day, The R[everend] S[akowicz] testifying.\u201d<\/p>\n Copyright \u00a9 2011 by Stephen J.
