On the Caribbean island of Saint Martin \/ Sint Maarten, the northern part is occupied by the French Saint Martin and the south by the Dutch Sint Maarten .\u00a0 On a tour of the Dutch part, there is an impressive view to the sea and Simpson Bay Lagoon from Cole Bay Hill .\u00a0 In the Great Salt Pond, once a source of income to the island for its salt, Great White Herons (Ardea alba<\/em>) and Brown Pelicans (Pelecanus occidentalis<\/em>) can be observed .\u00a0 In Philipsburg, the capital of Sint Maarten, an Eared Dove (Zenaida auriculata<\/em>) searches for\u00c2\u00a0something to nibble on\u00c2\u00a0near the statue of Dr. Albert Claudius (Claude)\u00c2\u00a0Wathey (1926-1998), a politician who for 40 years\u00c2\u00a0worked to improve the economic condition of the island.<\/p>\n
