Translated from the Polish, the record reads:<\/p>\n 250 Piasutno<\/p>\n This happened in the village of Ma\u0142y P\u0142ock on the eighteenth day of September in the year one-thousand eight-hundred fifty-eight at the hour of one in the afternoon .\u00a0 There appeared Jak\u00f3b Dymek<\/span>, a peasant farmer residing in Piasutno, thirty-two years of age, in the presence of Miko\u0142aj Dymek, thirty-seven years of age, together with Pawe\u0142 Plona, fifty years of age, both peasant farmers in Piasutno, and he showed Us a child of the male sex, stating that this child was born in Piasutno on the fifteenth day of September in this same year at the hour of twelve at night of his wife Franciszka<\/span> n\u00e9e Alicka, twenty-eight years of age .\u00a0 To this child at Holy Baptism performed by the Reverend Firmian the Capuchin, on this day was given the name Tadeusz<\/span> and his Godparents were Miko\u0142aj Dymek and Ma\u0142gorzata S\u0119drowska .\u00a0 This document was read aloud to the illiterate declarants and witnesses and was signed by Us. I have translated the name of the priest who baptized Tadeusz as the Reverend Firmian the Capuchin .\u00a0 At first I thought Kapucyn was a surname, but because two priests in the same parish (Firmian and Innocenty) both had the apparent surname Kapucyn, I now believe that the two priests were members of the Capuchin Order and had assumed the names of saints when they took their vows.<\/p>\n Copyright \u00a9 2011 by Stephen J.
