McDermott, a Roman Catholic Clergyman in Gardner<\/div>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<div align=\"left\">This was the first marriage for each of them<\/div>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<div align=\"left\">The marriage was recorded on 27 Oct 1908<\/div>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p align=\"left\">As I&#8217;ve often found in these hundred-year-old vital records from Massachusetts, this record includes a number of errors:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>\n<div align=\"left\">Azislaw Psczilkowski should be spelled Czes\u0142aw Pszcz\u00f3\u0142kowski<\/div>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<div align=\"left\">Jozefa Skoweronska should be spelled J\u00f3zefa Skowro\u0144ska<\/div>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<div align=\"left\">John Psczilkowski should be spelled Jan\u00c2\u00a0Pszcz\u00f3\u0142kowski<\/div>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<div align=\"left\">Julija Korder should\u00c2\u00a0be spelled Julianna [Kordek?]<\/div>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<div align=\"left\">Kazmierz Skoweronska should be Franciszek Skowro\u0144ski<\/div>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<div align=\"left\">Adela Podeska should be [Ma\u0142gorzata?] Podeszwa<\/div>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p align=\"left\">All other records I have for the Skowro\u0144ski family indicate that the given name of J\u00f3zefa&#8217;s\u00c2\u00a0father should be Franciszek, not Kazmierz .\u00a0 J\u00f3zefa&#8217;s mother should probably be Ma\u0142gorzata, not Adela, although most records show her name anglicized to Margrette.<\/p>\n<p align=\"left\">Why would the names of J\u00f3zefa&#8217;s parents be so far off?\u00c2\u00a0 Perhaps one reason is that both of her parents were deceased at the time of her marriage .\u00a0 Her father died when she was very young and her mother died earlier in 1908. \u00c2\u00a0In addition, J\u00f3zefa\u00c2\u00a0was only 17 years old when she was married .\u00a0 Perhaps J\u00f3zefa simply didn&#8217;t know the correct names of her parents.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>J\u00f3zefa Skowro\u0144ska, the daughter of Franciszek Skowro\u0144ski and Ma\u0142gorzata Podeszwa, married Czes\u0142aw Pszcz\u00f3\u0142kowski in 1908 in Gardner, Massachusetts.
