{"id":11283,"date":"2011-01-11T23:30:25","date_gmt":"2011-01-12T07:30:25","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/stephendanko.com\/blog\/index.php\/archives\/11283"},"modified":"2011-01-11T23:30:25","modified_gmt":"2011-01-12T07:30:25","slug":"la-boca-and-el-caminito-buenos-aires","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/stephendanko.com\/blog\/11283","title":{"rendered":"La Boca and El Caminito, Buenos Aires"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>La Boca is probably the most blue-collar of all the neighborhoods in Buenos Aires, but it includes El Caminito, a popular spot for tourists due to the colorful buildings and its\u00c2\u00a0abundance of street vendors and street performers .\u00a0 The trademark colors on the buildings began when, after painting the barges on the nearby river, the dockworkers used leftover paint on their own houses .\u00a0 The walls of El Caminito are decorated with works of art, one of which, called &#8220;Esperando La Barca&#8221; (Waiting\u00c2\u00a0for the Boat)\u00c2\u00a0held special interest for me since it reminded me of my immigrant ancestors .\u00a0 Estadio Alberto J.
