I am quite excited by this website. I've been doing my family genealogy for over 20 years and haven't found anything of its kind. My birth name is Sara Jeanne Demick, my last name changed from its original spelling, Dymek, sometime around 1900 when my Polish ancestors names were being Americanized as the children entered school. My family's presence begins in the early 1900s with Stephen, Alexander and Anthony, brothers. When looking through the death records for one of these boys, Jacob was listed as the father. No information for Jacob was listed, there wasn't even his last name. Could the Jakob here be the father of these 3 brothers? The timing is right. Most of my family settled in western Massachusetts. Some drifted into eastern NY.

Dear Steve,
thank you very much for presentation of stained glass windows and relevant pieces of the Bible. That is great! Please have a look on the picture of the tenth one - it is the same as the nineth one...
Best greetings from cold Warszawa,

Can anyone tell me about the graveyards in that area? Any access to records there? My family left for Canada in 1945 but would like to find information about ancestors with surname Shiemann, Schrage, Ebner, Brese, Szraga, Pitcher & Miller in Klonowo.
Thank you. Heidi

Thanks for the useful information on Eastern European research. Family Search has begun digitizing some of the EE records. Go to familysearch.org and scroll down to the bottom of the left side of the screen. Select Europe and you will find an alphabetical listing of European countries. Even though there may not yet appear an index, it's possible to browse the images. For example, some of the Czech Republic records have an original index with the pages of the records. There are also other Eastern European projects.
